At Lilydale High School student leadership is highly valued. We ensure that every student has the opportunity to be part of leadership whether that be in a formal sense or informally within the parameters of their classrooms.
The aim is to encourage team work, organisation and communication through active involvement in projects across the school. These are all skills that are required in today’s workforce and that are valued by employers.
We also believe it is important that students have a voice in what is happening in their school with a view to being able to shape the kind of environment that will give them the greatest chance of success.
The formal captaincy roles are involved in leading each of their year levels and learning areas. They are often innovative and creative with the many projects they develop and lead.
The school captains provide important input as members of the school council and all leaders take responsibility for the year level activities, initiatives and assemblies that they organise.
Student voice and leadership are, and will always be, part of the ongoing goals of Lilydale High School.
